Save the Date! On Tuesday, March 19 Substance Day at GDC returns.
Come and enjoy a full day of talks with a great lineup featuring some of the Substance masters from the industry. From 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, the schedule will include:
Sébastien Deguy’s Keynote will give you all the latest news from the Substance world.
You will jump into The Division 2: A World of Materials with Jon Lauf, Lead Technical Artist and Andrew Dixon, Environment Artist, Ubisoft Redstorm Entertainment.
Jonathan Benainous, Senior Texture Artist at WB Games Montreal, will tell you all about Creating Hard Surface Materials in Substance Designer.
Deep Dive with Vincent Dérozier and Pierre Fleau, Senior Texture Artists at Ubisoft Quebec, into the Texturing of the World of Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
Matthew McAuliffe, Brian Mullen, and Ryan Benno - respectively Texture Artist, Senior Lighting Artist and Senior Environment Artist at Insomniac Games - will take you for a special 90-minute talk dedicated to the creation of materials, textures, models, set dressing and lighting in Marvel’s Spider-Man.

The event will take place in room 3009 at the Moscone Center West Hall, 3rd floor. It is open to all attendees with an Expo Plus pass and above. There’s no need to RSVP, but mark the event in your diary and try to show up early as seats are limited. The full schedule will be posted on the website in the upcoming weeks.
Of course, this amazing day wouldn’t be a Substance Day without a fun, cool after-party. From 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, you will meet and mingle with the Substance team, the speakers, and the Substance community, with food and drinks. The venue is located a just few paces from the Moscone Center, and reservation will be available soon. Stay tuned!
