Combo! Two Greentooth Awards for Allegorithmic

For the very first time in 19 years of existence, Polycount hosted their very own community awards: The Greentooth Awards. Announced last December, we were very excited that Allegorithmic was part of the nominees in two categories: People / Individuals, and Tools.

Today, three winners have been announced in each category, and we are proud and honored to be part of the winners in both categories!

Allegorithmic’s Substance Designer and Substance Painter have been elected in the Best Tool Category, along with Marmoset Toolbag 3 and Unreal Engine. For the Exceptional Polycounters Award, our one and only Wes “The 3D Ninja” McDermott was elected, together with Josh Lynch and Tor Frick.

Furthermore, we are thrilled to see how Substance is widespread in the game world as shown in this contest. Amongst other winners, Josh Lynch is a world-class Substance Designer expert, and Naughty Dog, Epic Games and CD Projekt Red all use Substance in their pipeline. And of course, Uncharted 4, one of the most praised games of 2016, was also made using Substance.

Lastly, the fact that the Greentooth Awards are purely community-driven is very special to us. This is another concretization of all the efforts and passion we have dedicated to developing our tools and investing in awesome people. A big thanks to the community for their participation!
