At any time, you can change the resolution of a substance from 256 to 2048 to make it fit your exact needs.
Unlike other parametric texturing solutions, substances are designed to generate multiple texture maps extremely fast.
Substances typically weigh only a few kilobytes, so you can greatly reduce your packages by using substances instead of bitmaps.
